Nest-Preserving Hydration Kit

Keep your nests working for years!

Gypsum slowly dissolves in water. Every time plain water moves through the gypsum wick that connects the water vial to the nest, it carries off a tiny amount of gypsum. Over years, that wears the wick down.

This kit prevents it. Water that is already saturated with calcium sulfate (a food-grade mineral additive) can't dissolve any gypsum. Mix 1/16 teaspoon of calcium sulfate into a 2 ounce jar of water, then use that water to fill your water vials.

How to use it:

1. Add 1/16 tsp of calcium sulfate to the 2 oz jar and fill the jar with water.
2. Cap the jar and gently shake it. Let it settle.
3. Draw water from the jar with the syringe and fill your water vials. Leave any undissolved powder in the jar—as long as you see undissolved powder, the water is saturated.
