Refund policy

Crawlspace Habitats LLC | Effective Date: October 24, 2026

We take pride in the quality of our formicaria and accessories. If something isn’t right with your order, this policy describes your options. Please read it before starting a return or warranty claim.

Standard Returns

We accept returns of unused, unmodified items in their original packaging within 28 days of delivery.

Return window: 28 days from the date of delivery.
Condition: Items must be unused and in their original packaging. You may open the packaging to inspect an item. If an item comes back used, damaged, or missing parts, we may deduct the loss in value from your refund.
Return shipping: You pay return shipping. We recommend a tracked service; we can’t refund items that don’t reach us.
Refunds: Once we receive and inspect the item, we refund the price of the item to your original payment method. Allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear. Original shipping charges are not refunded.

To start a return, email contact@crawlspacehabitats.com with your order number and the reason for the return. We’ll confirm the return address.

International Orders

Orders shipped outside the United States are sold through our international checkout partner, Global-e, which acts as the merchant of record and collects duties and import taxes at checkout. The following applies to international returns and refunds:

Refunds are made in the currency you paid in. Refunds within 30 days of purchase use the exchange rate from the time of purchase.
Duties, import taxes, and international checkout fees are not refunded once an order has shipped.
You pay return shipping and are responsible for any customs paperwork. Mark the parcel as “returned goods” so it isn’t charged import duty on arrival in the US.
Replacements shipped internationally incur duties and taxes a second time. See the Warranty section below.

Damaged or Defective on Arrival

If your item arrives damaged or defective, we’ll make it right.

Reporting window: Report damage or defects within 7 days of delivery.
What we need: Email contact@crawlspacehabitats.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage or defect.
Resolution: Once verified, we ship a free replacement. In most cases you won’t need to return the damaged item. For high-value claims or repeated issues, we may ask for the original item before sending a replacement.
International orders: Because a replacement shipment incurs duties and taxes again, we may instead offer a refund of the affected item, a store credit, or a replacement sent with your next order. We’ll agree the option with you by email.

Warranty

Crawlspace Habitats products carry a 1-year warranty from the date of delivery.

Coverage: Damage or failure of any kind during normal ownership, including manufacturing defects, accidental breakage, scratched acrylic, delamination, and broken connectors or fittings.
Exclusions: Damage caused by unauthorized modification. Third-party products we resell (such as heating cables and hygrometers) are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, not ours.
How to claim: Email contact@crawlspacehabitats.com with your order number and clear photos. If the claim is approved, we replace the damaged item or component. For high-value claims we may ask for the original item first.
International claims: The same options apply as for damaged-on-arrival items above.

Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the country where you live. Customers in the European Union have a 14-day right to cancel an order for any reason; customers in the EU, UK, Australia, and some other countries also have legal guarantees that apply in addition to our warranty.
